Brandon and I are having a love fest. He is a really great dog and we have gotten used to each other and our "set in" ways:)...At the moment he is asleep in the sun(or was before the doorbell rang). He is wonderful at night, quiet , calm and cozy..He prefers a small down comforter instead of a blanket ...Oh my! He is gobbling his kibble and looks forward to his treats of a little yogurt, a carrot stick or some sweet potato. We go for a long walk in the morning . He sets the pace, so I get a good work-out too. I leave him for about half an hour in the morning or afternoon to shop and get him used to my comings and goings. He is an amazing escape artist. I have gates up which he can knock down no matter how heavily they are braced..He is able to push open the heavy swinging door into the dining room, so at the moment, there is no way to keep him from getting the run of the house. I will get permanent gates. I have hesitated to crate him.... He doesn't bark immediately when I leave, but I do hear him on my return. He sounds very mild compared to the two screaming yappers next door. Starting in March we will have a series of obedience lessons from Mike Wombacher, a super duper trainer. I am reading his book now so that I will have a head start on the procedures. Brandon is such a dear little dog and so loving and easy to care for..I doubt that there will be any problems as far a training goes. He has started playing with me..I get on all fours and pounce at him and he tears around like a maniac and then pounces back. I am getting lots of exercise. We send our love....Brandon and Margaret ..woofwoof
