I just wanted to update you on Gigi and tell you how blessed I am to have found her! She is just the perfect little angel and has just transitioned so well into the family! She loves her daily trips to my parents', aka her babysitters, and has been so amazing with my grandparents! They just love to see her, in fact my grandpa's lap is her favorite place to be when they are around! She is so gentle with them and even rides around with my grandpa is his scooter. It is so funny! I couldn't have asked for a better little girl and she has truly made my life much more rewarding.
Thank you,
Kim

Carson

carson_he.JPGI can't believe it's been over 2 weeks since we brought Carson home! Boy, time flies!

Carson is doing great! (I have to admit, we've been calling him "Noodle".) He's a really sweet little guy--very smart. He did great when we brought him home, though his tummy was a little upset. He's been great around our cat. We've got a set routine during the week. He goes to work with me. Everyone who meets him loves him.

I took him to my vet a couple of weeks ago and we set up a plan to combat his allergies and keep his bladder healthy. He's eating better than me! In addition to the fish oil you recommended, he gets coconut oil, cranberry extract, and probiotics added to his meals. We've been bathing him every week with Zymox shampoo. It was recommended by the vet. It not only smells really good, but it has enzymes that combat yeast and skin microbes.

We go out for walks twice a day, everyday. Unfortunately, the weather has made walking difficult. This stubborn puggie would rather stand in the pouring rain than actually get the walk over with!! I think he's finally realizing that it has to be done and the sooner we get it over with, the sooner we get indoors and dry!

The picture I took as part of a project I was participating in to help rescued dogs. It's called "The Flat Puglet Project." You can check it out at: www.flatpuglet.com

As you can see, I can go on and on. This little guy is settling in great. We just love him! Everyday, he does something new and wonderful. Thanks again for taking such great care of this sweet little boy. Feel free to email/call anytime!

Take care, Jennifer

Jaki

American River March 2010.jpgWe are up to our 6 month anniversary with Jaki (Olive) and we have had a blast. She is certainly a live-wire and has lived up to her Japanese name which means "little demon". I think she is really an alien from some strange pug planet. I have never heard a pug make such weird sounds- its almost as if she is trying to talk, She goes through a greeting ritual when I come home from work that consists of dragging herself on her belly but lifting her front paws way up as if to say "how", all the while wailing like a banshee. I should video it and post it on youtube!

She moved in as if she had always belonged here. Her only disappointment is that her sister gets to be "alpha". She has compensated, however...she plays the "cuteness" card for all it's worth! It didn't take long for her to figure that this family was right up her alley- going on hikes at the river, coffee and biscotti on Sundays, camping, and trips in the car for interesting treats. She claimed her spot in bed at night and guards it with her life. She sings soprano in the nightly snoring chorus.

I want to thank PROS for letting us have this wonderful little girl- I would say all 12 pounds of her but I think she's gained weight...(all those lattes and biscotti....)- she has become the light of our lives.

Brittany

brittany.jpgDear PROS - Gena, Jan, Jill H. and Sanjuana,

Tom and I would like to send our heartfelt appreciation to you and your phenomenal organization for the wonderful addition to our family, little Miss Brittany! We are over the moon with this precious puppy of a pug, and feel thrilled and blessed to start a new adventure with her.

Thank you to each of you for making all of this possible -- and in such an expedited fashion, too! Right from our first meeting with you at the adoption fair, we were tremendously impressed with every aspect of your organization -- from the wonderful volunteers to the little ones, who rely on its volunteers to be advocates for them. We were especially touched by Jill H., who took time from her very busy schedule to come to our home on a Friday night. Her professionalism was amazing, and her expression of condolences for out late, beloved CoCo Chanel blew us away.

And Sanjuana, Foster Mom to Brittany, what a wonderful woman! You could tell that Brittany was loved and well taken care of by her, because the darling pug had a sparkle in her eye and an extra spring in her step. I will always cherish the memory of Sanjauna's comment about saving Brittany through PROS: "We do it for Love!" God Bless her and ALL the volunteers.

The moment we saw Brittany, it was love at first sight. We are thankful that Crash, our pug could meet her. The first night we brought her home Brittany was so comfortable and very loving, She slept on our bed like she had been there before. NO Accidents. She is so well behaved. And she and Crash get along!

Thank you PROS! We are members for life. We are learning that rescuing a pug in need is so rewarding, and feel so lucky to be the ones to provide a forever home to this little angel.

Sincerely,

Tom & Anita

We wanted you to know that little Tobias is doing really well! Our older pug Bailey is enjoying his new little brother so much. We are grateful to have Tobias as a member of our family and wanted to thank you for bringing his sweet little spirit into our lives. He LOVES to give kisses and play. He is incredibly smart... and training has been a piece of cake. We look forward to having him with us for many years to come. He will certainly make life more fun and memorable! :D

Much love to the PROS!
