Jaki

American River March 2010.jpgWe are up to our 6 month anniversary with Jaki (Olive) and we have had a blast. She is certainly a live-wire and has lived up to her Japanese name which means "little demon". I think she is really an alien from some strange pug planet. I have never heard a pug make such weird sounds- its almost as if she is trying to talk, She goes through a greeting ritual when I come home from work that consists of dragging herself on her belly but lifting her front paws way up as if to say "how", all the while wailing like a banshee. I should video it and post it on youtube!

She moved in as if she had always belonged here. Her only disappointment is that her sister gets to be "alpha". She has compensated, however...she plays the "cuteness" card for all it's worth! It didn't take long for her to figure that this family was right up her alley- going on hikes at the river, coffee and biscotti on Sundays, camping, and trips in the car for interesting treats. She claimed her spot in bed at night and guards it with her life. She sings soprano in the nightly snoring chorus.

I want to thank PROS for letting us have this wonderful little girl- I would say all 12 pounds of her but I think she's gained weight...(all those lattes and biscotti....)- she has become the light of our lives.
