In 2012, PROS took in 109 pugs and before the end of the year, 98 of them had found wonderful new forever homes. 2013 is already on track to surpass that number. With the economic uncertainty, more pugs are coming to our care each year due to home and job loss. We are also seeing a significant increase in pug relinquishments, because the pug needs medical attention and the owner is not able to cover the costs. Thanks to your donations, PROS is able to continue taking in these pugs and providing them with the medical attention they require, and then finding them new forever homes. PROS feels every life is special and important, so we do everything we can to give these special souls the care and love they need.
In addition to the influx of new pugs, PROS also has many pugs in our Hospice/Retirement program. These are pugs that are seniors or have special needs that will require lifelong care and medical attention. The pugs in this program live their lives in a loving forever foster home, and PROS continues to pay for all of their medical costs. These pugs can be with us for 2-10 years depending on their needs.
