Happy Endings - Pino

As for how it's going with Pino, it's GREAT!!! Forgive me but I have to fill you in on all the long details. I couldn't have found a more AWESOME dog. Before adopting him I knew how much we would enjoy each others company and that I would love him, but I had no idea how much I would adore him. I feel as if he is my child! Every little funny thing he does I have to point out and exclaim over, because he is so precious. Now I truly understand why pug owners are so devoted to the pug breed. They are the BEST dogs around.

Pino's daily schedule is pretty consistent. He gets walked around the complex first thing in the morning for a potty break then gets fed at 7am. A few times a week at 7:30am we leave and drive over to the dog park and he plays with his girlfriend Daisy (an American Eskimo) and his friends Cassie and Erin (mixed breeds). They chase each other around nonstop and have a great time. On the mornings we don't go to the dog park I take Pino for a trail walk on the water. Then when he gets home he wants to sleep for quite a few hours.

After he wakes up from his mid morning nap we hang out. Pino loves to roughouse and likes to play tug of war with his bear, as well as chase a ball. My personal favorite is when Pino and I run around the house chasing each other. He crouches down low to the ground, freezes, then suddenly takes off full speed through all the rooms while I chase him, and then we repeat it all over again. Pino is so fun. Even Michael now likes to play the "chasing game" also. Pino loves chewing bones, lounging in front of the fireplace, and sun bathing.

In the afternoon I go to work and Pino sleeps some more. By the way he snores loudly, and if I'm on the phone people never fail to ask "Is that Michael snoring?" Usually Michael is home with Pino when I'm at work. I get home about 6 hours later and Pino gets another walk around the complex (potty break) and another meal. He relaxes with me some more (lap time) and then another potty break before it's bedtime. Pino is a great communicator. He is a credible watchdog and barks when someone is "too close" to our condo. He lets me know if he needs to go potty by standing by his leash and staring at me with his big bulging eyeballs. If we're sleeping and he has to go he just whines until we wake up.

He runs all my small errands with me and loves to go for the car rides. He cruises with his head fully out the window. People pull up next to us, look over at him and smile. He gets ALOT of attention ... "Oh my, is that a brindle pug?" and then they challenge themselves to figure out what he is mixed with. Pino loves people and greets them all with a huge kiss in the mouth. He's wiggling all over the second anyone walks in the door. He's gone many places in just a few months, like outdoor restaurants, and most of my friend's and families homes.

He's SO SMART and we are going to start obedience classes on March 3 at K9 insight in Redwood City. If he becomes trained enough I may look into bringing him to senior centers to visit because he enjoys people so much. I know this is an extremely long email but I just wanted PROS to know how unbelievable a dog my Pino is. Your organization is phenomenal. I have already refered people who are looking to adopt a dog to your website and I will continue to do so.

I hope Mojo (Pino's original sidekick) is doing good and maybe one day we'll run into him at a PROS pug park event. Michael and I will try to make it to an event within the next few months. Thanks again so much for your organization and please keep in touch.

Fondly, Danae
