Happy Endings - Rooney

Rooney is great, and he seems to be adjusting pretty well. He is currently sitting on the guest chair in my office that he has made it his own. He just sits there and peers at me accross my desk, or, more often, sleeps. He is eating on his own now. The first couple of meals I hand fed him part of his portion to get him going. I know that it can often take a dog in a new environment a few days to get his appetite back, so he is ahead of the curve. He is having a hard time with the flooring in my apartment, but I have already seen progress as he has begun to walk a little bit on the hard floor on his own. I will be adding a few area rugs to make him a bit more comfortable. He has been sleeping on top of my covers, right against my side, and seems to be sleeping very well. Generally, he still looks a little unsure of himself, but that will soon pass I'm sure. Everybody in my office likes him a lot. Rooney is such a great little guy in every way from walking on a leash to marking everything outside but nothing inside. It cracks me up everytime I put his harness over his head and he lifts his left fore leg to go through the loop in the harness. Its all routine to him I guess. And of course people can't wait to witness his acrobatics display After lunch we will do a lap around the park, that is next to my office, so that he can earn his afternoon knap.

Thank you all for being so nice and expediting this adoption for me. I can tell already that Rooney will make such a positive addition to my life, and I just aim to do the same for him. More updates to follow.

Take care, Cory
