Original Story  |  09.02.2016

Howdy!  My name is Tex and I’m a 9-year-old neutered fawn male.  I’m a really sweet guy just looking for my forever home.  I was surrendered to PROS as my owner fell on hard times and moved away.  He was going to take me to a shelter, but a friend took me instead but realized soon after that he couldn’t take care of me as he was a firefighter and worked many days in a row, leaving me with neighbors which was not fair to me…  Then he called PROS and I’m in a wonderful foster home with a foster Mom that loves me so much.  When I arrived, I had a lump on my back leg which turned out to be cancer.  I was taken to Davis Vet Hospital and got the full works including surgery.

UPDATE: 12/4/17
I’m a cancer survivor having a mast cell tumor removed over a year ago and I have been recently checked on my 1 year anniversary check up, and I’m in Remission.  Yeah!!  I’m currently looking for my new forever home.  I’m a very active guy, very strong and would do best in a home with a female dog.  I’m a great guard dog as well…  I hear something I’m alert and ready to protect my home.  I weigh 26.4 lbs and I’m up-to-date on all my vaccines.  I would love a new forever home for the holidays.  If you’re approved, please let Pug Rescue of Sacramento know and they will get a meet and greet scheduled!
